The Hotel

Surrounded by beautiful vineyards inserted in the Dão region, the Madre de Água Rural Hotel was opened in November 2012 and it is the ideal getaway for those who want to relax. Located in Gouveia, near the village of Vinhó, and just a few minutes from the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, this family hotel is a dream come true for its owners. The hotel’s concept was developed by the architect Jorge Bonifácio, its implementation was by the office of Palmer Greco and its decoration was done by architect Ana Reimão Pinto.

The main structure of the building is built with sober and resistant materials, maintaining the tradition of granite and wood, alternating with large and modern walls and glass windows.

The rooms and common area’s decor are welcoming, and its soft colors, ranging from earth tones, white and violet. It has 10 cozy rooms – all with names of Portuguese grape varieties – and, for those who want more privacy, an apartment and a studio are available a little farther from the hotel. Comfort is evident, as well as the service quality and friendliness of a specialized team always helpful.

A complete place, a must for those who enjoy the good things in life and the contact with nature.
